Albert Balcells

Prior to joining CoActive in 1997, Albert built successful technology solutions for national and international organizations.
Previous experience includes working for DeBeers South Africa R+D division, and working as a technology consultant for Hewlett Packard and a consortium of 11 universities under the umbrella of the CoLos (Conceptual Learning of Science) project.
Albert led technology labs for universities across the U.S.
and Europe in the early 1990s, publishing technical articles and white papers in prestigious multimedia journals and magazines such as Wiley's Computer Applications in Engineering Education.
Under a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF), Albert developed several breakthrough, real-time software packages simulating the interactions of electrical waves with materials.
The software is still used today at various universities as a tool to help professors teach complex abstract concepts to engineering students.
He received his BS in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain, and an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah.
