George Leon Argyros (born 1937 in Detroit, Michigan) is the former United States Ambassador to Spain. He is also a successful real estate investor, and was the owner of Major League Baseball's Seattle Mariners from 1981 to 1989.
Early and personal life
George Argyros was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Pasadena, California. Argyros is a second-generation American citizen; his grandparents emigrated from Greece. Argyros graduated from Chapman University in 1959 with a major in Business and Economics. He later served on the board of trustees of that university, including chairman of the board from 1976 to 2001.
He is the Chairman and CEO of the board of trustees of California Institute of Technology, and also a board-member for the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC.
He and his wife of 40 years, Julia, have three grown children and seven grandchildren.
In 2001 Arnel and Argyros were named in a civil complaint alleging Arnel Management 'systematically withheld tenants' security deposits'. Soon after its filing, Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas terminated the district attorney's investigation and removed Argyros' name from the case, saying 'I felt we had a strong case against the company and it would weaken the case [to include Argyros].' This decision was attacked after it was discovered that Argyros had contributed $30,000 to Rackauckas's campaign. Argyros was confirmed as ambassador to Spain shortly after this case settled.
Politics
Argyros served as a member of the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations for the U.S. Trade Ambassador, resigning that position in 1990, when President Bush appointed him to the board of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FreddieMac). He completed his term on the FreddieMac Board in March 1993. Many viewed the appointment as a political reward for his fund raising efforts for the Republican Party.

Joseph Miller (born October 14, 1981 in Lakeville, Minnesota) is a former stock car racer in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and the Camping World Truck Series.
Background
Miller grew up in the Lakeville, Minnesota area. He began racing quarter midgets at the age of 12 and eventually ran various hobby stock series races, winning many races. He had 22 starts in the American Speed Association with three top tens. He also competed in the ARCA RE/MAX Series scoring five wins in his rookie year with Country Joe Racing, easily clinching 2005 Rookie of the Year, but finished second to Frank Kimmel for the championship.
NASCAR career
In 2006, Miller attempted the full schedule in the Craftsman Truck Series, driving the #12 Toyota Tundra for Darrell Waltrip Motorsports. After fourteen starts and a fifth-place finish at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway, he was released from his ride due to a lack of sponsorship.
After NASCAR
Miller competed infrequently in the ARCA series with his old family-owned team, but the team eventually sold all of its equipment. Miller returned to the ARCA series for one last race at the Pocono Raceway on 5 August 2007 and crashed in an accident not of his doing. In the post-incident interview, he said that he was returning to help run the family housing business in Minnesota and that he would probably not race again. However in late August 2011, Miller returned to the ARCA Racing Series at the Madison International Speedway with Win-Tron Racing's #32 Champion Oil Dodge.

Joseph R. Swedish, also known as Joe Swedish, is an American health care executive, and former hospital executive. Swedish is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Indianapolis-based Anthem Inc., the second-largest health insurer in the United States. Formerly, Swedish was the CEO of Trinity Health, Corp. from December 2004 until his resignation in February 2013 when he was named the CEO of Anthem. Swedish attended elementary school at a local orphanage while growing up on his parents' farm in Virginia. Later, he attended Duke University and received a master's degree in health administration in 1979.
Career
Throughout his career, Joe Swedish has had approximately 40 years of experience as a high level hospital executive. From 1994 until 1998, Swedish was the president of the East Florida and Central Florida Divisions for the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). In the fall of 1997, Swedish was appointed to CEO of both the East Florida and Central Florida divisions until he resigned in 1999. Following his time with the HCA, Swedish was the president and CEO of Centura Health Inc., the largest hospital system in Colorado, from 1999 to 2005.
In December 2004, Swedish was named the CEO of Trinity Health, Corp., a hospital system based in Michigan consisting of 47 hospital in ten states. Swedish officially resigned from his position at Centura and began working with Trinity in January 2005. At Trinity, Swedish implemented changes to the company's health care delivery system by changing clinical and business processes and integrating IT platforms.
WellPoint
In February 2013, Swedish was named Chief Executive Officer of Anthem Inc., one of the largest health insurers in the United States. Naming Swedish CEO came as a surprise to many industry veterans and regulators, including WellPoint investors, due to having little experience in the insurance industry. Swedish succeeds former CEO Angela Braly, and joined WellPoint during the time when the Affordable Care Act (ACA) had already begun to change the organization of the health care industry. Using Swedish's background in hospital administration to assist in creating close ties with health care providers along with his past methods of organization during times of restructuring and transformation were the primary reasons the board of directors at WellPoint cite as to why they chose him to lead the organization.
Personal life
Swedish is married to Gene Swedish. Together they have three adult children, Ian, Evan, and Erin.
