Bridgepoint Education, Inc. announced the appointment of Tom McCarty to the position of senior vice president and chief marketing officer. McCarty will oversee all marketing efforts for the company and the company's two academic institutions, Ashford University and University of the Rockies. He will report directly to Chief Operating Officer Chris Henn. Prior to joining company, McCarty led his own marketing and management consulting firm, where his clients ranged from institutions of higher education to medium-sized businesses and non-profits. McCarty previously also served in several roles at Apollo Education Group, including senior vice president of university strategy for the University of Phoenix, and senior vice president product marketing for Apollo Group Marketing. Prior to his employment with Apollo Education Group, McCarty led Aptimus as the general manager of the education business.
