Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) has been actively implementing environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) practices, and has been selected as a member of the FTSE4Good Emerging Indexes again this year, which has been recognized for seven consecutive years.

With the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050, Yuanta FHC, after passing the target review of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), has further signed the SBTi Net-Zero commitment to do our part for the planet.

FTSE4Good Index Series has been compiled by FTSE since 2001, and the FTSE4Good Emerging Markets Indexes were launched in 2016 to rigorously scrutinize the performance of corporations in the three major areas of ESG. The members are all leaders in the sustainability field. This year, a total of 572 companies are included, spanning eleven industries, with a combined market capitalization of about USD 3.4 trillion. 96 companies from Taiwan are selected in this year's list.

Yuanta FHC integrates internal and external resources to invest in financial products and services that have a positive impact on society and the environment, and has received numerous awards from domestic and international organizations, including being selected as a constituent of both the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and the Dow Jones Sustainability Emerging Markets Index for four years in a row. Yuanta FHC has also been awarded the National Sustainable Development Award, the highest honor in the field of sustainability in Taiwan, and has been invited by Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission to join the Coalition of Movers and Shakers on Sustainable Finance to serve as a benchmark for net-zero transformation.

Precisely because of the importance of the risk of climate change, Yuanta FHC systematically promotes various internal carbon reduction strategies and extends influence to stakeholders, including joining hands with suppliers to respond to the 'Earth Hour' and CommonWealth Magazine's 'Do One Thing for the Tamsui River' campaigns, and inviting suppliers to take part in the signing of the Tamsui River Convention. Yuanta FHC is working with customers and suppliers to realize low-carbon transformation and together move towards the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.

SBTi is a joint initiative of the CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Wide Fund for Nature, and the World Resources Institute, which aims to help corporations set their carbon reduction targets in a more scientific way. More than 3,300 companies around the world have committed to establishing SBT targets and applying for it. Yuanta FHC has also signed up for the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials to introduce international standards for carbon management in investment and financing, utilize the upstream influence of capital, and join hands with industries in low-carbon transformation. All of these measures demonstrate the determination to fight against climate change and promote a better future for future generations.
