The board of directors of Yanchang Petroleum International Limited announced that based on the unaudited management accounts of the Group currently available, the Group is expected to record a loss of around HKD 62 million for the six months ended 30 June 2020, as compared to a loss of around HKD 43 million for the six months ended 30 June 2019. The interim loss of the Group is mainly attributable to the loss of the oil and gas production business in Canada due to the depressed oil prices as a result of the slowing global demand caused by the outbreak and spread of the COVID-19.
