XcelMobility Inc. announced a contract to install its flagship Mach 5 Xcelerator on 1.5 million USB mobility devices in a licensing agreement with telecommunications agency Shenzhen Lighting Mobile Internet (LMI) Technology Co. Ltd. As exclusive China Mobile agents in Shenzhen and throughout Guangdong province, Shenzhen LMI is the largest exclusive agent for any carrier in the region with over 12 million users including 2 million USB mobility 'stick' subscribers. Currently, standard USB wireless modems utilize the TD SCDMA standard on China Mobile's 3G networks which are theoretically capable of 384Kbps. Actual download speeds currently average 40-80KB/S with upload speeds of approximately 30-40KB/S in field tests. With Xcel's Mach 5, speeds of up to 3 to 5 times faster are achievable across the network under comparable conditions.
