In a first-time endeavor, VH1 has put together some of its esteemed alumni from its "You Oughta Know" franchise on a compilation CD, VH1 "You Oughta Know" Volume 1, which will be available exclusively at Whole Foods Market stores nationwide in early January 2014.

The inaugural CD is not only a sampling of the musical talent that has been featured as part of VH1's "You Oughta Know" franchise in recent years, it will also feature a bonus track by the winner of the 2nd Annual Whole Foods Team Member Music Project, Los Angeles-based band Bravesoul. For the second year, VH1 and Whole Foods Market came together in a collaboration of discovery and celebration of new and fresh talent. Whole Foods Market invited its team members from across the nation to submit an original piece of music. Regional team member panels selected their favorites from 507 total entries, which were reviewed by a national team member panel, who then selected the top ten finalists for public voting. Los Angeles-based band Bravesoul emerged victorious and is named the winner of the 2nd Annual Whole Foods Market Team Member Music Project. Bravesoul, and their original song "If the Morning Ever Comes," will be featured on the VH1 "You Oughta Know" Volume 1 compilation CD sold exclusively at Whole Foods Market stores, and they will perform at an upcoming VH1-sponsored concert event in March 2014 in Austin, Texas.

"VH1's 'You Oughta Know' Volume 1 is a testament to the success of the VH1 You Oughta Know franchise, and its goal to introduce new music talent to the public. We are so pleased to work with Whole Foods Market again and offer the best in music and food at the same time!" says Rick Krim, EVP of Music and Talent Relations. "Bravesoul is a worthy addition to this compilation, and we look forward to their continued success."

Bravesoul is a 3-piece alternative rock band from Los Angeles made up of members Marty Rod (guitars, keys and vocals), Eric Noble (bass) and Maxwell Breaux (drums), who is a Whole Foods Market team member at the Reston, Virginia store. Managing to blend gritty, soulful vocals with beautiful atmospheres and an adventurous rock sound, they have been compared to modern bands such as Imagine Dragons, Kings Of Leon, Muse and Young The Giant. Their songs are catchy but heavy, intelligent yet raw and filled with emotion. Their new album, "The Infinite Hourglass," will be released on February 18, 2014.

"It's been an awesome experience being part of the competition," said Maxwell Breaux, Team Member Music Project winner. "Lawrence, a co-worker of mine, just mentioned I should submit a song because he remembered I had a band. Next thing you know our song is being sold on a VH1 compilation in Whole Foods Market stores and we'll have the opportunity to perform at a VH1 concert event."

Since its launch in 2005, VH1's "You Oughta Know" franchise has introduced promising new artists on the rise and served as a barometer for what and who's hot in music today. Many "You Oughta Know" artists have gone on to win industry awards and accolades including "Best New Artist" Grammy Awards and nominations. The 13-track VH1 "You Oughta Know" Volume 1 features some of the popular "You Oughta Know" alumni artists such as Amy Winehouse, Ed Sheeran, The Lumineers, Foster The People, Gotye and many notable others. VH1's "You Oughta Know" Volume 1 will be available in Whole Foods Market stores nationwide in January 2014.
