Waga Energy: biomethane production agreement in Texas
Specifically, OCI Global will install a capture device on the Beaumont landfill site, to capture the gas emitted spontaneously by the degradation of organic waste.
This gas will then be transformed into biomethane by an on-site WAGABOX unit, and injected into the local gas network.
The WAGABOX unit will be built, owned and operated by Waga Energy under a purification service contract, while OCI Global will own the biomethane production.
According to Waga Energy, WAGABOX, which will be commissioned in 2025, will avoid annual emissions of some 27440tonnes of eqCO2.
