As of June 1, Massimo Frascella will be responsible for the design of the cars, the company announced on Thursday. He replaces Marc Lichte, who is taking on other tasks within the Group. Frascella will work directly under Audi boss Gernot Döllner. The 52-year-old Italian was most recently head of design at Jaguar Land Rover. He is to design the new cars from Ingolstadt in the coming years. Audi has announced that it will no longer be launching any new combustion cars on the market from the middle of the decade. However, the Ingolstadt-based company recently had to postpone the market launch of the Q6 etron - which is to be the prelude to the introduction of a large number of electric cars - several times because the software for it was not ready. The vehicle is to be officially presented in the first quarter.
