Vestas Wind Systems A/S has received a new wind turbine contract from US utility MidAmerican Energy Co and orders for production tax credit qualifying turbine components in the US. The deal from Berkshire Hathaway Energy's unit also includes a 10-year Active Output Management 5000 service agreement. Separately, Vestas has secured three orders for 84 MW of turbine components that qualify for 60% of the PTC under the 2015 bipartisan PATH act. Both deals came from undisclosed customers and involve turbine components compatible with Vestas 4-MW platform. The largest order is for 40 MW, while the other two are for 22 MW each. The components will be used for future wind energy projects whose construction is planned to be completed by end-2022.
