SHENZHEN, China, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- Universal Travel
Group Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: UTVG) (''Universal Travel Group'', or the
''Company''), a growing travel services provider in the People's Republic of
China (''PRC'') specializing in online and customer representative services to
the travel service industry offering packaged tours, air ticketing, hotel
reservation and air cargo agency services, today announced that the Company
has entered into an exclusive, five year co-operation agreement with Byte
Power (CQ) Info Tech Limited in the City of Chongqing, a subsidiary of Byte
Power Group Limited (ASX: BPG.AX) (''BPG'').
BPG chose UTVG as its exclusive co-operation partner due to the Company's
introduction of its user-friendly TRIPEASY Kiosks, the first of its kind in
China. According to the agreement, UTVG will jointly place its TRIPEASY Kiosks
inside BPG's e-Kiosks, which will integrate and complement each other's
functionality and bring greater benefits to a wide range of users. The
TRIPEASY Kiosk provides easy and immediate access of travel bookings and
entertainment guides to those who have no or inconvenient access to the
Internet in high public traffic places, BPG's e-Kiosk occupies an area of 16
square meters, and offers a wide range of services aimed at ''e-enabling" the
regional Chinese population.
UTVG will provide its TRIPEASY Kiosk machines and install the database
related to travel services, government and public affairs and periodically
provide on-site personnel to promote the use of TRIPEASY Kiosks. Additionally,
it will increase the number of functions that TRIPEASY Kiosks may provide,
such as utilities payment, fixed and mobile phone fee recharge, lottery
purchase, transportation IC card recharge, etc. BPG will provide the machine
installation, operation, maintenance and local media promotion.
In the first phase of the trial rollout, 13 TRIPEASY Kiosks will be placed
into e-Kiosks at peripherals of major shopping malls, office buildings, at
road junctions and pedestrian malls. In Chongqing, BPG has about 300 secured
sites for its e-Kiosks, which offer mass benefits of e-commerce, could be used
as travel booking locations and tourist information points. The attraction of
UTVG's exclusive hand-in-hand development agreement with BPG stems from the
potentially fast roll-out of BPG's e-Kiosks project. Rapid expansion could be
achieved by the Company as well with nominal time or human resources invested.
At present, BPG has systematically rolled out its e-Kiosks to major public
areas in Chongqing, China and the rollout has been approved and encouraged by
government authorities in Chongqing and other cities.
''We are pleased to take our TRIPEASY Kiosks beyond the city of Shenzhen,
and into a wide range of public locations in Chongqing,'' said Ms. Jiangping
Jiang, CEO of UTVG. ''By co-operating with Byte Power Group, we will save the
time, energy and expenses related to negotiating and securing public locations,
as well as upgrade the functionality of our Kiosks to appeal to a broader base
of consumers. We look forward to a close working relationship with BPG and we
hope to introduce and rollout our TRIPEASY Kiosks to further existing and
potential e-Kiosks in China and Australia in the future."
