On Sunday, UPS announced an agreement to sell its subsidiary Coyote Logistics, one of the world's leading third-party logistics (3PL) providers, to RXO for $1.025 billion.

Based in Chicago, Coyote Logistics works with 100,000 network carriers and handles 10,000 loads a day. "This divestiture allows us to focus even more on our core business," explains UPS CEO Carol B Tomé.

The transaction is expected to close by the end of the year, subject to regulatory review and approval. Upon closing of the transaction, the logistics and package transport giant will update its financial outlook.
