The boards of Liberbank, S.A. (BME:LBK) and Unicaja Banco, S.A. (BME:UNI) will vote on whether to proceed with a merger between the two entities in the first two weeks of December(2020), Cinco Días reported on November 23, 2020. Under current discussions, Unicaja would hold 59.5% of the new entity, while Liberbank would hold the remaining 40.5%, the paper said. The two banks plan to hold shareholder meetings in February (2021) to vote on the deal, according to the report.
