IRVINE, CA--(Marketwired - Jan 1, 2014) - Irvine-based Ubiquity Broadcasting Corp. (OTCQB: UBIQ) announced that Ubiquity Labs, its technology research and development business, has completed development and is rolling out its proprietary WEAV Intelligent Video Surveillance Software platform over the first quarter of 2014, with initial applications for vehicle license plate and gun detection.

Ubiquity's patent pending MOFF (Matched Orientation Field Filter) technology enables Ubiquity's WEAV platform to analyze footage from a variety of video formats obtained from all types of cameras including low resolution surveillance cameras, traffic cameras, personal security cameras, mobile devices, vehicle cameras to detect objects, logos, weapons, and license plates.

Ubiquity has solved the problems generally associated with license plate and gun detection. Ubiquity's software can detect license plates and guns accurately under a wide variety of conditions; low quality footage, low light, partially occluded objects, footage from mobile devices, and adverse weather conditions.

"During the holidays, with highly attended public events such as the 125th Rose Parade, the 100th Rose Bowl and football games throughout the country, there is an increased need for real-time video and data analysis capabilities from all types of cameras, including user mobile devices, surveillance cameras, and network footage to cross-reference multiple angles and vantage points to collectively verify the object of interest," said Chris Carmichael, Ubiquity's CEO. As Police in Pasadena plan to beef up security measures for the 125th Rose Parade in the wake of bombings at the Boston Marathon they will be fully equipped with Bomb-sniffing dogs and an emphasis on video surveillance to detect suspicious behavior during the New Year's Day parade, which is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of revelers. Carmichael added "We are pleased to be delivering on our goal to bring a transformational video technology to market that can truly make a difference to law enforcement, security and key stakeholders in making events a more secure and safe environment."

"Ubiquity's patented and patent pending compression technology enable our software to intelligently discern objects of interest; distinguish between humans, vehicles, distinguishing marks and other objects; and continuously track positions for all moving and stationary targets within the video scene", said Ubiquity CTO Kristian Sandberg
