Toyota: certificates revoked at Daihatsu in Japan
The withdrawal of certification is linked to non-compliance with the pre-requisites for certification testing.
Toyota explains that during the tests, fully developed vehicles and parts intended for mass production must be used. However, during the tests in question, the airbags in the vehicles concerned had been tested without the use of mass-produced parts.
The automaker clarifies that the revocation only affects new vehicles that have been shipped and sold, and adds that all affected models comply with safety performance standards.
As a result, customers who already drive such vehicles can continue to use them without any problems, and there will be no direct impact on vehicle inspections', concludes Toyota.
