The Tuscan Airport System continues to grow: new record in June with over 950

thousand passengers (+15%), Florence and Pisa mark new all-time highs

Florence, July 2, 2024 - The Tuscan Airport System marks a new record in June, exceeding 950 thousand passengers (952 thousand to be precise) transiting through the airports of Florence and Pisa. This is a 15% increase compared to the same month in 2023, driven by the growth in the number of commercial passenger flights (+12.2%) and a load factor of scheduled flights (so-called load factor) of 86.2% (+0.4% percentage points).

Overall, the first half of 2024 closes with another milestone: for the first time, the Tuscan Airport System exceeds 4 million passengers (4.1 million), registering a +14.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The Amerigo Vespucci airport in Florence has recorded a new monthly record in June, exceeding 357 thousand passengers (+11.3% compared to the same month in 2023). This significant increase is mainly due to the increase in the number of commercial passenger flights (+7.5%) and an improvement in the load factor, which stands at 84.5% (+1.5 percentage points). International scheduled traffic showed a 15.3% growth, offsetting the 5.4% decline in domestic traffic. The main destinations served with scheduled flights were Paris, London, Amsterdam, Rome and Zurich.

For the Florence airport, the first half of 2024 closed with a historical record, exceeding 1.6 million passengers and marking a 21.9% growth compared to the same period of the previous year.
