TonenGeneral Sekiyu KK : Shimizu Terminal Welcomes Executive Committee of Petroleum Base Disaster Prevention Council for Site Tour

The Shimizu terminal (Shizuoka City, Shizuoka; terminal manager: Toshihiko Okamoto) of TonenGeneral Sekiyu K.K. (head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; representative: Jun Mutoh) welcomed the Executive Committee of the Petroleum Base Disaster Prevention Council for a site tour on January 24. The council comprises members from city councils of local governments in 50 regions nationwide where petroleum complexes are located. Thirty-four visitors, including attendants of the council members, participated in the tour. After receiving information about the terminal itself as well as disaster prevention systems for earthquakes and fires, the visitors observed the terminal grounds and firefighting vehicles and facilities. At the planned construction site of an LNG power plant, the visitors were given an explanation of the environmental assessment for the project. The tour was very worthwhile, with visitors asking many questions about petroleum, disaster prevention and construction of the power plant after observing the facility.
