Japanese wireless device design specialist becomes Telit Competence Center and chooses Telit HE910-EUD and SE873 modules with AppZone for compact GPS Tracker development

Tokyo, July 13, 2016 - Telit, a global enabler of the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced that it has been chosen by IDY Corporation, a provider of services for wireless device design including hardware and software, to provide its HE910-EUD and SE873 modules along with the Telit AppZone framework and tools, to develop its new, compact GPS Tracker, called iG340B.

IDY, based in Tokyo, Japan, is a specialist in 3G and LTE wireless devices, such as gateways, routers, as well as GPS (GNSS) devices with three-axis accelerometers and Bluetooth Low Energy devices. It has recently become the first Telit Competence Center in Japan and plans to target overseas markets with Telit products.

'Establishing a partnership as a Telit Competence Center is strategically very important,' said Osamu Sato, the country director for Telit in Japan. 'I'm very pleased that IDY is our first Japanese Competence Center expanding our global partnerships, enhancing our local presence and supporting our expanding business in Japan.'

In addition to the new iG340B GPS Tracker, IDY also utilizes HE910 mPCIe, LN930 AP, LN930 and SE873 modules from Telit in products including its iR700B Gateway. The Gateway is already released in Japan and the company has created a prototype for the Asian market. In addition, the Gateway is being tested for U.S. market certification. IDY plans to have the iG340B GPS Tracker in production later this year.

The company selected Telit because of its wide portfolio of technologies and services to support IoT. IDY wanted a truly global player that would be a strong partner as it grows its business outside Japan. Telit's family concept of modules, such as its xE910 and LN930, which cover multiple regions and technologies utilizing the same form factor, was a strong influence in IDY's decision to select Telit.

'We are confident that we can significantly expand our overseas development in the future with the conclusion of this partnership with Telit Wireless Solutions. We will cooperate closely with them and develop products tailored to operational specifications and provide a communication platform both domestically and overseas with high-quality service focusing on M2M and IoT in the ICT field,' said Kazuaki Honda, President and CEO of IDY Corporation.
