A team of young Essex footballers are shooting for the stars during their debut season thanks to a £1,500 donation from our East London team. We funded new goalposts for the under-8s team at Alresford Colne Rangers FC in order to allow the players to train and compete in matches. We are building new homes nearby at the region's Staunton Gate development in Alresford, and are keen to help the team as part of its commitment to supporting local communities.

Scott Ridgers, under-8s manager at Alresford Colne Rangers, said: 'We're so grateful to Taylor Wimpey for the generous donation. Ensuring that we have equipment of the highest quality is really important in making sure that the team has the best shot at performing well in matches. For their first year, the under-8s players are doing very well with five wins and two draws - we also placed third in a league tournament.'

Michael O'Leary, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey East London, said: 'It's so lovely to hear that Alresford Colne Rangers under-8s are having a great season so far. Getting involved in the communities near to our housing developments is always important to us, and we're proud to leave a positive impact in places such as Alresford. We're delighted that the teams are making good use of the new goals, and we wish them the best of luck in future tournaments.'
