Sutton Habrour Holdings has appointed a team of commercial property consultants and architects to help deliver its £75million vision to transform the Harbour into a national destination.

A framework for the Harbour was unveiled in November 2012, with plans for 350,000 sq ft of mixed-use projects across 12 underused sites, including new restaurants, cafes, shops, offices and apartments generating over a thousand full time equivalent jobs.

Real estate firms Jones Lang LaSalle and Insight Retail Consulting, along with architects Lyons+Sleeman+Hoare have all been appointed by Plymouth-based Sutton Harbour Holdings Plc to begin the implementation of the framework.

The combined expertise of the three companies spans the leisure, retail, office and destination sectors.  Bristol-based Insight Retail is already familiar with Plymouth's waterfront having played an instrumental role in the development of the leisure offering at Royal William Yarch, attracting national brands including Le Bistrot Pierre and Las Iguanas amongst others.

Martin Bloom from Insight Retail Consulting said: "We are delighted to be involved in Plymouth city yet again. The framework proposed by Sutton Harbour Holdings Plc is a gateway to build on the innate strengths of the city's waterfront, promoting opportunity for developing the leisure spend in Plymouth and the regeneration of the Harbour and Barbican, making it a primary destination for tourists to visit in the South West."

Jones Lang LaSalle will be providing expert advice in the leasing and development of retail, leisure and office space.

John Kinsey and Andrew Pearce of JLL jointly said: "We are delighted to be appointed with Martin Bloom of Insight Retail and look forward to working with Sutton Harbour Holdings Pll.  With Martin's success at Royal William Yard and our experience of similiar destination locations such as Harbourside in Bristol, Gloucester Docks, Cardiff Bay, Cowes, Gosport and Ealing Wharf and Ocean Village in Southampton we will bring some national and maybe international ingredients to add to the existing success of the Harbour."

Architects Lyones+Sleeman+Hoare specialises in destination architecture, with a portfolio including Biscester Village, the world's most successful shopping destination, and the transformation of the Covent Garden Market buildings into a world-famous destination.  Jonathan Adams, Director at Lyons+Sleeman+Hoare added: "We beleive Sutton Harbour should be an exciting and vibrant place to rival Covent Garden in London."

Sutton Harbour Holdings Plc has already identified the first sites to be developed incuding Quay Point where a new enviormentally friendly cafe, the real food kitchen, opened on Friday 19th July. Plans are also being refined for a £4million broardwalk with family restaurants and shops which will create a direct waterside pedestrian route between Guys Quay and Vauxhall Quay and deliver in excess of 120 local jobs.

The company hopes that by investing in the framework and building upon the existing development - which includes a 460 berth marina, quality apartments, visitor attractions, fishmarket, offices and leiusre and retail space - it can create a destination to rival the likes of Albert Dock in Liverpoool and St Katherine Docks in the City of London.

Jason Schofield, Chief Executive of Sutton Harbour Holdings Plc said: "I am delighted to have three highly experienced firms on board to support us in the development of the Harbour and bring our £75 million vision the life. We will be working closely with all three firms to ensure that the devleopment meets market demands and will attract the right quality of tenants.

"We believe that Sutton Harbour will become a national destination and a focal point Plymouth's waterfront. We want to create a modern deveoplement, but one which retains the heritage and history that makes it unique, continuing to attract investment and create new opportunities."

Sutton Harbour Holdings Plc will now work with its newly appointed team to create a series of visuals of how the Harbour could look in the future.
