Supreme Petrochem Limited reported unaudited standalone earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended December 31, 2013. For the quarter, the company reported net sales/income from operations of INR 8,069.802 million compared with INR 7,885.572 million for the same period last year. Loss from operations before other income, financial cost & exceptional items was INR 163.710 million compared with profit from operations before other income, financial cost & exceptional items INR 468.368 million for the same period last year. Loss from ordinary activities before tax was INR 207.302 million compared with profit from ordinary activities before tax INR 405.062 million for the same period last year. Net loss for the period was INR 134.743 million or INR 1.39 basic and diluted per share compared with net profit for the period INR 270.640 million or INR 2.87 basic and diluted per share for the same period last year.
For the six months, the company reported net sales/income from operations of INR 15,905.466 million compared with INR 14,023.073 million for the same period last year. Profit from operations before other income, financial cost & exceptional items was INR 279.281 million compared with INR 624.470 million for the same period last year. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 190.566 million compared with INR 501.551 million for the same period last year. Net profit for the period was INR 130.742 million or INR 1.37 basic and diluted per share compared with INR 334.663 million or INR 3.53 basic and diluted per share for the same period last year.
Supreme Petrochem Ltd is an India-based company, which is mainly engaged in the business of styrenics. The Companyâs primary operating segment is Styrenics business. The Company manufactures Polystyrene (PS), Expandable Polystyrene (EPS), Masterbatches and Compounds of Styrenics and other Polymers, Extruded Polystyrene Insulation Board (XPS) with manufacturing facilities at Amdoshi Dist. Raigad, Maharashtra and Manali New Town, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The Company manufactures both General Purpose Polystyrene (GPPS) and High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) for injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming, and blow molding applications. It produces different types of EPS like Fast Cycle (FC) grades, High expansion/ low energy (BL) grades, self-extinguishable (flame retardant) with bead size ranging from 0.4 mm to 2.0 mm. Its Polymer compounds refer to various blends of polymer additives, reinforcing agents, fillers, and other materials.
