with Osmosis (Holdings) Limited

Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Holdings, Inc. (Director, President: Toru Takakura; hereinafter "SuMi TRUST Holdings") hereby announces that consolidated subsidiaries Nikko Asset Management Co., Ltd. (President: Stefanie Drews; hereinafter "Nikko AM") and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Asset Management Co., Ltd. (CEO: Yoshio Hishida, hereinafter "SuMi TRUST AM") have entered into a three-partycapital-business agreement with UK asset management firm Osmosis (Holdings) Limited (CEO: Ben Dear, hereinafter "Osmosis").

1. Overview of SuMi TRUST Group's Asset Management Strategy

With "Creating new value with the power of trusts and let prosperous future for our clients and society bloom" as our purpose, our Group is working to realize a virtuous circulation of funds, assets, and capital by utilizing broad trust functions and has taken initiatives to create new value for society.

In the asset management business, while providing diverse investment functions that combine the strengths of each company, centered on Nikko AM and SuMi TRUST AM, we are working to find asset management companies that contribute to the creation of high-quality investment opportunities.

2. Objectives and Background of This Agreement

Osmosis, a UK-based asset management company founded in 2009 with strong added value investment strategy products in the sustainable investment field, is a research-based, unique quantitative investment manager focused on delivering investment returns and environmental outcomes based on an investment philosophy of investing in more resource efficient companies that are more likely to outperform their peers over the long term. Through this agreement, we will provide Osmosis' products to investors in Japan and overseas via Nikko AM's global sales network. In addition, we will enhance investment strategies by integrating the investment strategy of Osmosis with the management know-how of SuMi TRUST AM and provide excellent investment opportunities to a wide range of investors both in Japan and overseas.

Going forward, while continuing to develop an asset management business utilizing the features and strengths of each company in SuMi TRUST Group, we will strive to provide added value to investors in Japan and overseas by collaborating with diverse investment management companies within our Group.
