On 8 January 2021, the Board of Directors of SKP informed that as a health precautionary measure to facilitate the Covid-19 screening for employees, Management has decided to voluntarily shut down its Johor Bahru operations from 16 January 2021 to 29 January 2021. In the meantime, The company will work closely with Ministry of Health during this shut down period. SKP will continue to adhere to the standard operating procedures as directed by the MOH in order to ensure the necessary safeguards are in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and to ensure that the employees are provided with a safe and healthy working environment. The company will continue to carry out disinfection and sanitisation measures at all facilities and workers hostels. In addition, the Group has notified all employees, suppliers and customers about the temporary factory shut down. As a result of this precautionary measure, the capacity loss is estimated to be 3% of the Group total annual output. However, other production facilities which are located at other different cities continue to operate as normal. This measure has been well communicated to customers and can reschedule production plan to meet customers demand after the resumption of operation. The Company will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates on the matter in due course.
