FORCED LABOUR & CHILD LABOUR RISKS

  1. the parts of its business and supply chains that carry a risk of forced labour or child labour being used and the steps it has taken to assess and manage that risk

Skeena has applied for permits to build a mine in northwestern British Columbia. This effort will involve a significant volume of international procurement, including purchasing mineral processing equipment, raw materials such as concrete and steel, as well as light, medium, and heavy duty vehicles and equipment such as excavators and dozers. The supply chains that produce and distribute these equipment are global and complex, and thus carry a risk of forced or child labour.

Our standard contract requires that suppliers declare their compliance with Skeena policies

At this time, Skeena Resources is not aware of any forced or child labour within its supply chain.

  1. the training provided to employees on forced labour and child labour; and

Skeena has a very small procurement department. In 2023, training on the avoidance of forced labour and child labour has been informal, consisting primarily of targeted conversations highlighting the new legislative requirement and encouraging relevant staff members to seek out further information on the requirements of Canada's Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act, and the prevention of forced labour and child labour more broadly.
