The Directors of Site Group International Limited ("Site", ASX:SIT) are pleased to announce that TESOL Asia, a division of Site has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Asia's leading conference organiser, The Pinnacle Group International to develop and launch a series of world class TESOL Asia branded conferences in Asia. This important partnership comes amidst the backdrop of the growing demand for professionally certified English courses in Asia especially from China, Korea, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia. Another area of growth is the rising economic status of Women in Asia with greater recognition by governments that women play an important role in contributing to economic and societal wellbeing of a nation. Changes in legislation according equal opportunity for women in education, employment and protection in Asia are evidences of positive development in improving the lives of Asian women. Demand for English either as a first or supplementary language has risen steadily as more and more women in Asia have access to basic and higher education. It is estimated that over one million persons are actively involved in TESOL worldwide with a further four million teaching or involved in teaching English across the globe. The fields of study and research include second language acquisition theories, English teacher training courses and programs, research into the field of English as an international Language and developing areas of Brain studies and Language acquisition. TESOL Asia and The Pinnacle Group International will jointly develop TESOL branded conferences namely the TESOL Asia Conference and the Women in TESOL Conference as a platform for practitioners in the fields of English teaching EFL, ESL and TESOL training to submit and present their research as well as a platform for learning and networking. It is estimated that the events will attract a following of 3,000 professionals annually and is expected to grow over time.
