Singapore, 3 October 2016--- Well-known China singer, songwriter and investor Cannon Hu Haiquan (胡海泉) will be speaking at this year's Eminent Speakers Series ('名人演说系列'论坛) on 8 Octoberat Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Level 4, Orchid Ballroom.

The event is jointly organised by Lianhe Zaobao and Business China, and supported by Singapore Press Holdings Foundation.

Launched in 2008, the series invites prominent personalities who are highly regarded authorities in their respective fields to share their unique perspectives and insights on a broad range of topics, including current affairs, politics, business, economics, media, culture and the arts.

Mr Hu will speak on the topic 'Evolving entertainment industry and the value of a pan-entertainment strategy' at the forum, which is conducted in Mandarin. He will share his personal experiences about working in the competitive entertainment industry which has made major shifts amid a rapidly changing and increasingly complex digital landscape, and the value and need for a pan-entertainment strategy.

Past eminent speakers include Prof Liu Ji, Honorary President of China Europe International Business School (CEIBS); Mr Yao Jing Yuan, Former Chief Economist of China's National Bureau of Statistics; Professor Justin Lin Yifu, Chief Economist of The World Bank; Mr Qian Gang, Director of China Media Project, Journalism and Media Studies Centre at the University of Hong Kong; Mr Jin Wei-Tsun, Founder of Business Weekly; Mr Yau Lop Poon, Editor-in-Chief of Yazhou Zhoukan; Mr Nan Fangshuo, Taiwan's leading political commentator; Mr Jiao Tong, Taiwan publisher and writer; Mr Leung Man Tao, Hong Kong writer and TV commentator, and Dr Martin Jacques, international best-selling author.

The forum, moderated by Wang Yanqing (王嬿青), will be followed by a Q & A session.

About the speaker:
Mr Cannon Hu Haiquan, 41, is a well-known singer, songwriter and member of the popular pop duo Yu Quan (羽泉) in China. He is also a prominent angel investor, founder and President of Haiquan Fund, operator of Yu Quan brand, as well as founder of Beijing Giant Jump Culture Development Company. He is the Chinese ambassador for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Greenpeace, and the initiator of a public health fund in China. Mr Hu was ranked among the '40 Chinese Business Elites under the age of 40' by Fortune China magazine in 2014.
