Rosenbauer International : The new FIRE FIT 2 protective suit for still more freedom of movement

The new FIRE FIT 2 is the latest version of Rosenbauer's highly popular protective suit with the practical, dark blue design. During the further development process, Rosenbauer focused primarily on the highest level of safety in combination with maximum comfort. Like its predecessors, the FIRE FIT 2 offers excellent protection for a diversity of operation responses, irrespective of whether these involve traffic accidents, indoor fire attacks or technical rescues. Many years of experience also resulted in a number of improvements such as the slight shortening of the protective jacket and the provision of five centimeter-wide suspenders, which make the pants more comfortable to wear.

Protection Level 2 with only 2.9 kg

With a weight of only 2.9 kg, the FIRE FIT 2 numbers among the lightest suits in the Level 2 protection category. At the same time, it provides firefighters with comfort and reliable safety over long periods. In addition, a specially shaped sleeve head furnishes additional freedom of movement and due to the new cut structure the split sleeves remain comfortable even in the case of extreme exertion. The knee reinforcements and pads can survive the toughest operational demands and the three-layer fabric is not only wind- and watertight, but also breathable. Especially during long and strenuous operations, these three characteristics add up to greater comfort.

Safe and practical

The markings on the FIRE FIT 2 have been designed for optimum safety and on both the jacket and the pants, large, silvery yellow, 3M stripes ensure firefighter visibility. In addition, a radio pocket and a separate strap for the hand mike leave the hands free for rescue shears and hoses. Apart from a standard Velcro strip for the name tag on the left side of the chest, if ordered a 38 x 8 cm Velcro area allows a large insignia to be attached to the back of the jacket. The special tailoring of the inner sleeve also prevents the irritation of it being pulled out, which in particular saves time when dressing quickly in response to an alarm.
