Vantaa Energy has chosen Rejlers as its EPCM supplier in connection with the construction of a new large-scale electric boiler at the Martinlaakso power plant in Vantaa, Finland. The project is an important milestone in Vantaa Energy's efforts to become carbon negative by 2030 and strengthens Rejlers' position as a leading supplier of EPCM (engineering, procurement, construction management) projects. Vantaa Energy's goal is to produce carbon-negative energy by 2030.

In the project at the power plant in Martinlaakso, a large-scale electric boiler of 60 MW and a district heating battery of 700 MWh are now being built. The electric boiler adapts its operation to the need for district heating and the price of electricity, which means that production can be optimized. The energy is stored in a district heating battery and released when the demand for district heating increases.

This enables the storage of renewable energy from sources such as wind and solar, contributing to more sustainable energy production. Rejlers is a catalyst for customers in the energy transition by offering technical expertise and project management throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-planning to implementation. Beginning in June 2024, the project is expected to be completed by autumn 2025.
