Fired Pie will offer a free pizza or salad to all active local duty law enforcement officers and firefighters on Thursday, Oct. 28, according to a press release. The date is National First Responder's Day.

Law enforcement and firefighter guests just need to show a badge in a store location to get the freebie.

"National First Responder's Day recognizes the heroic men and women who daily put their lives on the line and we are excited to honor our courageous first responders on their special day," Doug Doyle, co-owner of Fired Pie, said in the release. "We want to thank our law enforcement officers, paramedics, EMTs and firefighters with a free pizza or salad from Fired Pie. First responders are true American heroes and we're extremely excited to have this offer on such an important day."

There are 20 Fired Pie locations and all are locally owned.
