CHICAGO, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PrivateBancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq: PVTB) is pleased to announce Jennifer Evans is named General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, effective immediately.

Evans has more than 26 years of experience in providing legal counsel to publicly traded companies, particularly in the financial services industry. She spent more than 20 years with Vedder, Price, P.C., one of Chicago's top law firms where she specialized in corporate and securities matters for regulated financial services companies and publicly traded companies, providing counsel on strategic and fiduciary matters including capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, governance, and disclosure requirements.

In 2004, Evans joined MAF Bancorp, Inc., where she was an Executive Vice President and General Counsel until its acquisition by National City Corp. (now part of PNC Financial). Since then she has worked as an independent legal consultant and has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Evergreen Bank Group in Oak Brook, Ill., since 2008.
