DIX, Ill., Jan. 5, 2015 - Jeff McKay, quality control technician at PPG Industries' industrial coatings manufacturing facility in Mount Vernon, Illinois, presents two PPG Industries Foundation checks to benefit fifth-grade students at Rome Grade School. Teacher Abby Hawkins (left) received $962 to implement the Ready, Set, Go! Project, which enables students to create 3-D maps and learn digital mapping and geocaching. Teacher Angela Courtright (right) received $1,000 to begin the E.Y.E. (Explore Your Environment) program, which promotes knowledge of ecosystems, biodiversity and conservation.

"PPG is strongly committed to supporting the communities where it operates and the schools where its employees are involved," McKay said. "These programs make learning science, technology and social studies more hands-on and interesting. We are glad that we can help with these programs and hope the students have fun while learning."
