Photon Energy signed a contract for the construction and maintenance of a 20.8 MWp PV plant in New Zealand through which it expands its operations in the Australia-Oceania region. It was reported that the deal marks Photon Energy's expansion into the New Zealand market, where the group will benefit from the experience gained in Australia and Europe. It was pointed out that the project is Photon Energy's first utility-scale venture in New Zealand and one of the first projects that Aquila Clean Energy and FSNF are developing in the country.

Photon Energy has also been selected to provide installation technical maintenance (O&M) services once the project is operational.
