Parker Hannifin Corporation has announced that its Sporlan division has released a new three way valve, referred to as the Modulating 3-Way Valve, or MTW, for use with direct expansion air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The Modulating 3-Way Valve is designed to modulate flow of refrigerant at two ports and divert flow between two separate outlets. The product line features two sizes, the MTW-9 and MTW-17, which cover R-410A flow capacities up to 40 tons (131 kW). These valves are approved for suction, liquid and discharge line uses; including dehumidification, reheat and heat reclaim applications.

The Modulating 3-Way Valve provides improved performance through modulation eliminating refrigerant pulsations (liquid hammer). The high resolution stepper motor provides precise modulation and tight seating when single outlet flow is required.
