A message from our president and chief executive officer

"AS AN INDUSTRY AND TECHNOLOGY LEADER IN THE PURPOSE-BUILT VEHICLE INDUSTRY, WE LEVERAGE EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP TECHNOLOGIES AND SOLUTIONS THAT SUPPORT OUR PURPOSE OF MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN PEOPLE'S LIVES."

A YEAR OF PURPOSEFUL PROGRESS

At Oshkosh, our commitment to moving the world forward has never been stronger as we navigate the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly evolving world. As an industry leader in the purpose-built vehicle industry, we leverage every opportunity to develop technologies and solutions that support our purpose of making a difference in people's lives.

Significant strides in electrification and sustainability have been made, with a planned investment of $300 million in electrification from 2022 to 2025. We're at the forefront of developing purpose-built vehicles and equipment with zero emissions, including North America's first electric refuse collection vehicle.

Our success is driven by leveraging the strength of our portfolio of leading brands and 17,000 team members worldwide. Everything we do supports our purpose of making a difference in people's lives. We do this by living our core values: we put people first, we do the right thing, we persevere and we are better together. Our business strategy, "Innovate. Serve. Advance." directly reflects our core values, guiding our sustainability journey and continues to be the foundation of our forward momentum.

OUR PEOPLE FIRST CULTURE

In 2023, we saw substantial investments in our workforce, with over 204,000 hours of professional development delivered through initiatives like Leader Labs and Your Oshkosh University. We intensified our diversity, equity and inclusion efforts through initiatives that foster an inclusive environment where all team members feel valued. This included

mentorship programs, events hosted by our employee business resource groups and inclusive leadership training, reinforcing our dedication

to creating a diverse and equitable workplace. Our holistic wellness programs supported the overall wellbeing of our team members and maintained open communication through perpetual feedback mechanisms, including monthly pulse surveys designed to foster open dialogue.

INFUSING INNOVATION IN PRODUCTS

Our innovation strategy extends from progressive partnerships with startups and universities to acquisitions such as Oshkosh® AeroTech™. Staying focused in a changing world

A complex, constantly evolving world presents both challenges and opportunities. We consider megatrends impacting society and the planet as part of our commitment to be a sustainability leader in the industries that we serve. These global megatrends are of particular importance to Oshkosh in identifying opportunities for innovation and sustainable growth.

CLIMATE CHANGE

As global greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) continue to increase, 2023 marked the warmest year on record. Yet risks posed by worsening climate change can be transformed into opportunities. This includes introducing more sustainable products and operations and accelerated progress towards electrification of our transport system. Improved energy efficiency is also a powerful strategy in a low-carbon world.

RESOURCE SCARCITY

Scarcity of finite resources like minerals, metals and fossil fuels is having economic and environmental impacts, especially as the global population expands. With growing economies, demand for materials to meet society's needs will only increase. Circular business models to manage resources responsibly and sustainably are among the approaches quickly picking up speed.

DIGITAL FUTURE

Technology is transforming every part of our world, with advanced analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence offering new insights and opportunities for innovation. Digitalization is emerging as one

of the most effective ways to reduce negative environmental impacts.

URBAN WORLD

As the world experiences the largest wave of urban growth in history, cities need the infrastructure to support an expanding population, including transportation. Cities represent over 70% of CO2 emissions from burning fossil fuels. With electrification of mission-critical transport like refuse collection vehicles and postal delivery vehicles, transportation can help urban centers lead the way in tackling climate change and reducing other negative environmental impacts.

Tracking our sustainability performance

As a key element of our core business strategy, we measure progress and continually raise the bar on our sustainability performance. In 2023, we advanced progress in all our key focus areas. Oshkosh also has long-term targets for diversity and greenhouse gas reduction as part of the company's executive leadership incentive compensation.

A COMMITMENT TO SCIENCE-BASED TARGETS

In 2023, Oshkosh made continued progress in setting enterprise-widescience-based targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.2 Our commitment is to develop and submit our targets to the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi), by May 2024. The SBTi is a global body enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions reduction targets in line with the latest climate science.

New and anticipated regulations requiring disclosure of climate risk include:

  • The European Union's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which came into effect in 2023 and covers thousands of non-EUcompanies doing business in Europe, requires emissions disclosures aligned with the latest climate science.
  • New climate reporting rules from California passed in 2023: the Climate Corporate Data Accountability Act (Senate Bill 253) requires large businesses operating in California to publicly report their greenhouse gas emissions. The Climate-Related Financial Risk Act (Senate Bill 261) mandates that companies disclose the threats they face as a result of climate change.
  • Under the proposed climate disclosure rule from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), expected to be finalized in 2024, companies must account for their GHG emissions, the environmental risks they face and the measures they are taking
    in response.

We're also responsive to the expectations of our customers who have set their own GHG emissions reduction targets and want products and solutions that advance their sustainability goals.

WORKING WITH OUR SUPPLIERS

Part of our target-setting process included an evaluation of our Scope 3 emissions.3 We're engaging with key suppliers to better define supply chain emissions and potential for emission reductions.

We partnered with Manufacture 2030, a SaaS firm that helps companies measure, manage and reduce emissions across global supply chains. In the first phase of the partnership, Oshkosh is offering the Manufacture 2030 platform to its top 300 suppliers. These suppliers represent an estimated 75% of Oshkosh's total supply chain emissions. This will help Oshkosh measure and reduce our supply chain emissions effectively and ensure continued progress towards our sustainability goals.

Expansion of energy reduction, renewable energy and our strong focus on electrification, autonomy and active safety, intelligent connected products and digital manufacturing will all play a part in reducing GHG emissions and achieving our goals. Setting science- based targets is a natural evolution of our journey as we build on our strengths and prepare for the future.

2 A science-based target is a target for reducing GHG emissions that is in line with reductions that the latest climate science deems necessary to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to well below 2° C above pre-industrial levels and pursue efforts to limit warming to 1.5° C. The SBTi is a partnership between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute and the World Wide Fund for Nature.

3 The establishment of science-based targets requires a company to consider emissions generated directly by their operations (Scope 1 emissions), by the electricity used in their operations (Scope 2 emissions) and emissions from sources a company doesn't own or control but are related to its operations, such as emissions from a company's supply chain and in the use of their products (Scope 3 emissions).
