Orlen S.A. has started work in Leba on the construction of a service base to service the Baltic Power offshore wind farm, which is expected to be ready in 2025, a year before Baltic Power launch. The estimated cost of the investment is PLN 62 million (EUR 14.2 mln), the company said in a press release. The base will employ a total of around 60 workers and will operate the farm for its entire life cycle, a minimum of 25 years.

The quay will be able to accommodate vessels with a maximum length of 35 metres. The base will be permanently manned by three to four specialised vessels designed to transport equipment and service personnel, with each vessel taking up to 24 technicians on board with full equipment.
