Orkla ASA : releases product innovations

Store shelves are now being filled with a wide variety of new products from Orkla.

Among the many new innovations are Grandiosa Vår Take Away pizza, Nidar Melkesjokolade milk chocolate, pizza ingredients from Pizzabakeriet and several wholemeal bread mixes from TORO.

'Grandiosa Vår Take Away pizza could potentially become the next big new Grandiosa version, while we are following up on the success of Pizzabakeriet with products that make it easy to obtain the same quality at home,' says Arve Heltne, Senior Vice President, Orkla Marketing & Innovation.

This launch window features a broad range of activities and innovations related to several of Orkla's strongest brands:

'Nidar Melkesjokolade is a brave and inspiring undertaking. Another example is TORO wholemeal bread mixes, where we are venturing into a new area with the same success formula that has worked in the baking segment,' Arve Heltne says.

Other new food products worth noting are Kornmo Knekkebrød crispbread, Toten Flak crisps, Polly Peanøttsmør peanut butter, Nora refrigerated jams with a 70% berry content, TORO Supergrøt multi-grain porridge and TORO Rett i koppen instant oatmeal.

More goodness, fewer unhealthy ingredients

'We are continuing to focus on reducing sugar in our products, and are now launching Nugatti Zero as the first chocolate spread sold in Norwegian groceries that contains no added sugar at all. Other examples are Maxim gluten-free protein bars and TRUE sugar-free energy and sports drinks,' Mr Helte says.

The naturalness trend is also impacting the personal care segment, where Define is launching a new range of hair care products free from parabens, colorants and silicone. Other innovations include Naturelle Pure deodorants, Naturelle Care bar soaps and a range from Dr. Greve consisting of 15 personal care products. Lano hand and shower soaps are being relaunched without parabens, colorants or allergens.
