Nokia today announced that its 5G Standalone Core technology has been chosen by Portuguese operator NOS to enable it to offer its customers 'new innovative 5G offerings, securely, on a large scale and with advanced operational efficiency'.

Further extending their partnership, the two companies have also signed a memorandum of understanding to use Nokia's network as a code platform with a developer portal (platform).

Under this agreement, Nokia and NOS will work to create programmable interfaces (APIs) that will enable third-party developers to write software for a variety of industrial, enterprise and consumer applications.

Nokia says it has signed collaboration agreements with 10 network operators and ecosystem partners to use its platform, launched in September 2023.
