Minera Frisco, S.A.B. De C.V. Reports Production and Earnings Results for the First Quarter of 2020

Minera Frisco, S.A.B. de C.V. reported production and earnings results for the first quarter of 2020. For the quarter, the company produced 28,092 oz gold in the quarter, down from 35,799 oz, on lower volumes of ore processed at the El Coronel, Ocampo and San Francisco del Oro assets. Silver output slipped to 1.38 million oz from 1.49 million oz on lower production at the same mines and San Felipe, where grades declined. The company produced 5,934t of copper, up from 5,543t, on higher output at the Tayahua operation, while copper cathode output fell 45% to 279t. Frisco also produced 4,358t lead and 12,698t zinc, up 4% and 15%, respectively, from first quarter 2019, partly due to higher volume of ore processed at the Asientos mine.
For the quarter, the company reported net loss of MXN 4.63 billion against MXN 3438 million a year ago. Revenue was MXN 2.22 billion.
Minera Frisco SAB de CV is a Mexico-based company engaged in the exploration and exploitation of mineral resources. The Companyâs main activities comprise the production and sale of lead-silver concentrates, zinc concentrates, copper concentrates, copper in cathode and gold and silver rods. The staged operations include the location, investigation and compilation of information in the prospective areas considered for possible existence of minerals; conducting detailed geological study in the prospective areas, and finally conducting exploration methods directly in the prospective areas as a result of the previous stages.
