Meggitt : £130 million Ansty Park site formally opened by Mayor of West Midlands

Meggitt PLC, a leading international company specialising in high performance components and subsystems for the aerospace, defence and selected energy markets, today opened its new Ansty Park site bringing together a range of Meggitt's existing operations within a world-class aerospace engineering and technology facility in Coventry.

Meggitt Chief Executive Tony Wood and Mayor of the West Midlands Andy Street formally opened the facility alongside long-standing Meggitt employee Harry Patel, the event was attended by Meggitt employees, customers and regional partners.

Ansty Park is one of the biggest investments in UK manufacturing in a decade as well as being Meggitt's largest infrastructure investment to date, one of a number of the company's global infrastructure projects. The facility provides a base for nearly 1,000 employees and is also regarded as a blueprint for the future. Built to high building efficiency standards to meet the environmental needs of the future, it boasts grey water systems, a photovoltaic roof capable of generating power equivalent to 25% of the site's needs and an electrification ready car parking plan.

Tony Wood, Meggitt Chief Executive, said: "The opening of Meggitt Ansty Park represents a major advance in the development of our global manufacturing footprint. The site is just one of a number of global site developments, which reflect our truly global business in aerospace, defence and energy where we are developing, manufacturing and exporting the next-generation of technologies required for sustainable aviation and cleaner energy."
