Greg Michael joins May Gurney as Group Business Development Director reporting to the chief executive with a seat on the Executive Management Team.

Greg will be responsible for leading the Group's business development strategy - specifically, achieving growth through new clients, new services and new markets. This includes interpreting market and competitor trends, identifying new opportunities and ensuring that the Group's business development, marketing and corporate development capabilities support May Gurney's aspirations for 2016.

Greg will be based at May Gurney's Stevenage office and the Group's Corporate Development, Strategic Development and Marketing functions will report to him.

Greg has significant experience of defining, building and executing successful growth strategies to capitalise on innovation, new service opportunities and new markets across both the public and private sectors. He has been responsible for winning large-scale, long-term transformational outsourcing contracts and has extensive M&A (Merger & Acquisition) experience.

Most recently, Greg was Transformation Director at Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC), where he held full responsibility for the £308 million operating budget, reporting to the CEO. He led the design, build and implementation on NCC's 4-year business transformation strategy, in addition to holding responsibility for Procurement, Trading Services (Highways and Facilities Management), and the Council's Capital Programme.

Before this, Greg enjoyed a successful career with DHL in Europe and the UK - first as Group Business Development, Strategy & Commercial Director, where he led the acquisition of Excel Logistics and then as Managing Director for DHL in Denmark where he also held responsibility for developing DHL's pan-European business development strategy, increasing market share by 13% and EBITA by 34%.

Philip Fellowes Prynne, Chief Executive, May Gurney welcomed Greg, "May Gurney has very ambitious plans for 2016. I'm confident that Greg's expertise in developing new business, new services and new markets will be a very significant contribution to ensuring our success."
