Introduction to the Report
This MPPLC annual report reflects the Company's financial and non-financial performance covering the period from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022. We are pleased to present this report to wide range of our stakeholders on behalf of the Company's Management.
The Financial statements and other relevant disclosures have been prepared in accordance with the Sri Lanka Financial Reporting Standards (SLFRS), LKAS, Companies act No 7 of 2007, CSE listing rules and other relevant reporting requirements.

Maskeliya Plantations PLC is a Sri Lanka-based company that is engaged in the cultivation, manufacturing and sale of black tea and planting of timber. The Company has also commenced planting rubber, cinnamon and pears. It is primarily engaged in the production of tea, which is the single business segment. Its geographical segments include Maskeliya, Upcot, Talawakelle and Bandarawela. The Company manages and operates approximately 18 estates with a total extent of land 10,561 hectares (ha) of which 5,348 ha has been cultivated with tea. The Company has five estates each in Upcot and Maskeliya zones, four in Talawakelle zone and four estates in Uva tea sector in Bandarawela zone. It has approximately 14 factories in operation manufacturing black tea with rotor vane and leafy manufacturing methods. The Company's estates include Brunswick, Glentilt, Glenugie, Mocha, Strathspey, Brownlow, Hapugastenne, Laxapana, Moray, Mousakelle, Ferham, St. Clair, and, Troup, Ampittiakande, and Craig.
