NOTICE TO THE MARKET MARFRIG CLARIFIES ON THE INCIDENT IN THE BATAGUASSU TANNERY (MS)

São Paulo, January, 31, 2012 - Marfrig Alimentos S.A. (BM&FBOVESPA: MRFG3, level

1 ADR: MRTTY) informs its shareholders and the market in general that this morning's accident involving the tannery unit in the municipality of Bataguassu (state of Mato Grosso do Sul) has been controlled by firefighters. The tannery has been isolated for forensic examination. There is no risk of intoxication and the unit is insured against accidents.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by police technicians and preliminary information indicates that there was a chemical reaction during the unloading of inputs by an outsourced company. The company's local team is providing assistance to the affected employees and their families.
The Bataguassu meatpacking plant, close to the tannery, was not affected by the accident and operates normally.
