Company Recognized for Excellence in Training Delivery, Earning a 92 Percent Award Fee on Current Contract

(Anniston, Ala.) Jan. 10, 2012 - Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] announced today that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded the company an overall excellent rating for its work on the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) contract Award Fee Period of April 1, 2011 through September 30, 2011. SAIC received a 92 percent award fee score as a result of the rating. Under the contract, SAIC provides qualified instructors to teach emergency responder courses. SAIC also manages training logistics, administrative support, sustainment activities and cost data analysis.

The CDP located in Anniston, Ala., offers federal all-hazards training that enhance the capabilities of emergency responders, emergency management personnel, and government officials responding to incidents involving weapons of mass destruction and other hazardous materials. CDP's mission is critical-ensuring that CDP alumni can apply their training experience and specialized skills to respond in their own communities during real world events. Whether the threat is chemical, biological, explosive, radiological, or other hazardous materials related, CDP provides high-quality comprehensive preparedness training programs for the nation's first responders.
