'LNK Industries' JSC and 'Latvijas Tilti' JSC of the LNK Industries group of companies continue the restoration works of the Ostas Street's promenade, a.k.a. Ventmala, in Ventspils.

The restoration works include the renovation of load-bearing metal structures of berths No. 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23, repair of the reinforced concrete superstructure, repair of the metal fender beam, elimination of promenade surfacing's subsidences, as well as cleaning of the riverbed and restoration of depths of the Venta River. Works are executed both on shore and under water with the help of special equipment and divers.

'Concreting works were not interrupted in winter as well. In order to work in very specific circumstances, special additives were used for the concrete, and proper care was ensured during the hardening,' says the 'LNK Industries' JSC Project Manager Vadims Bogdanovs. 'Divers are working on the object, specific devices - special cameras, which are used to repair sheet-pile walls in dry conditions at the minus 2 meter mark, will be mobilised in the near future,' explains V. Bogdanovs.

LNK Industries performs the construction works of berths No. 19-23 in accordance with the results of open tenders. The renovation of berths began last year in October and the works are expected to be completed this year in the first half of the summer.

The construction of objects is carried out as a part of the EU Cohesion Fund's co-financed project No. 3DP/3.3.1.3.0/10/IPIA/SM/001 'Development of the Infrastructure of the Freeport of Ventspils', which is implemented within the framework of the activity ''Motorways of the Sea' Infrastructural Development of Large Ports' of the addition 3.3.1.3 to the operational program 'Infrastructure and Services'.
