Karambunai Corp. Bhd reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended September 30, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of MYR 14,717,000 against MYR 11,202,000 a year ago. Loss from operations was MYR 6,551,000 against MYR 9,907,000 a year ago. Loss before tax was MYR 6,582,000 against MYR 9,958,000 a year ago. Loss for the period attributable to owners of the parent was MYR 6,889,000 against MYR 6,299,000 a year ago. Basic loss per share was 0.12 cents against 0.11 cents a year ago. The increase revenue was attributed mainly to the higher revenue generated by the property development and construction segment from its Bandar Sierra Project. In line with higher sales, the loss before tax of the Group for the three months ended 30 September 2015 narrowed to MYR 6.58 million from MYR 9.96 million losses a year ago.

For the six months, the company reported revenue of MYR 27,642,000 against MYR 22,401,000 a year ago. Loss from operations was MYR 10,906,000 against MYR 21,373,000 a year ago. Loss before tax was MYR 10,968,000 against MYR 21,481,000 a year ago. Loss for the period attributable to owners of the parent was MYR 11,499,000 against MYR 17,828,000 a year ago. Basic loss per share was 0.20 cents against 0.31 cents a year ago. Net cash used in operating activities was MYR 6,613,000 against net cash used in operating activities of MYR 18,869,000 a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment MYR 352,000 against MYR 809,000 a year ago. The increase in revenue came mainly from the property development and construction segment which recorded an increase of MYR 5.89 million in revenue, attributed to the higher recognition of attributable revenue from its Bandar Sierra project.
