KWIH Title Sponsors the Stage of Verdi's Masterpiece Rigoletto in

Hong Kong

Strives to Promote Appreciation of Opera in Hong Kong and Foster Local Art and Cultural Heritage

(Hong Kong 15 October 2019) - Dedicated to advancing arts development in Hong Kong, K. Wah International Holdings Limited ("KWIH" or "Group") (stock code: 00173) is rendering its support again to Opera Hong Kong ("OHK") this year title-sponsoring the stage of Rigoletto, Giuseppe Verdi's first internationally acclaimed masterpiece, on last Friday night at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

The luminaries there to enjoy the performance included Executive Director of KWIH Ms Paddy Lui, Chief Financial Officer of KWIH Mr Oliver Lam and Artistic Director of OHK Mr Warren Mok. Also in attendance were renowned leaders from foreign mission and in the business and education sectors, including Deputy Consul General of Sweden in Hong Kong Mr Joakim Ladeborn, Non-executive Director of Galaxy Entertainment Group Dr Charles Cheung Wai-bun, President of the Education University of Hong Kong Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung, and Independent Non-executive Director of Hang Lung Properties Ms Anita Fung Yuen-mei.

KWIH has been active in promoting opera and local art and cultural development. Over the years, it has brought, via sponsorship, globally beloved opera classics to Hong Kong, offerings local audiences a truly extraordinary experience of the art form, thus helping promote the appreciation of opera in the city, and also explore and nurture new talents for the local art circles.

Rigoletto, Verdi's first work to earn international acclaim and one of the most frequently performed opera classics in the world, is featured at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre for five days between 9 and 13 October. Telling an intriguing story, beautiful and heart- moving, about vengeance to defend one's pride, Rigoletto is deemed an Italian opera masterpiece, with some of the opuses, such as "La donna è mobile", well-loved around the world. For the current production, OHK has gathered together a world-renowned artistic master team comprising the award-winning conductor Paolo Olmi, and international star opera singers such as Roberto Frontali, Audrey Luna and Pavel Petrov, to present the audience an audio-visual pleasure like never before.
