LOWELL, Ark., Jan. 3, 2017 - J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: JBHT) announced today that it has exercised its right to arbitratetherevenuedivision provided for in the Joint Service Agreement ("JSA") between J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. ("JBHT"), its wholly owned subsidiary, and BNSF Railway Company ("BNSF").

The JSA provides that therevenuedivision shall be a negotiated provisiondetermined by theparties and reviewed quarterly for its fairness. JBHT has requested that the fairness of therevenuedivisionbereviewed by a panel of arbitrators.

Therevenuesharing is determinedunderconfidential contract standards, andtheissues submitted for arbitration includeboth theinterpretationandapplicationof these standards. Eachpartybelieves its interpretation ofthe

contractandmethodologyto determine therevenuedivisionis both properand fair. Thearbitration pertains to the divisionofrevenuecollectedunderthe JSA beginning May 1, 2016.

The fairnessof therevenuedivision has not beenreviewedbya thirdpartyinmorethan 10 years, and the

intermodal network builtby theparties overthat timehasseentremendous growth and increasedoperating complexities. Whilethis typeof proceeding between theparties has been infrequent, and maybelengthy and time consuming, JBHT considers this part of the normal courseof business within thelong termrelationship.

Compartmentalizing theproceeding is a moreefficient wayto facilitate the revenuedivisiondetermination and will allow bothparties to maintaintheir focus ongrowing andoperating the joint servicenetwork.

Theultimategoalis to jointly serveourlargeandexpandingcustomerbaseandto continueto providethemwith thepremierintermodal service theyhavecometo expect from thisrelationship. Bothparties agreethatretaining customerservicelevelsandcustomerconfidenceis paramount to thesuccessof intermodal andthat this

administrative proceeding will in no wayinterferewiththat priority.
