ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masahiro Okafuji, President & CEO; hereinafter 'ITOCHU') and Kyudenko Corporation (Matsuji Nishimura, President; hereinafter 'Kyudenko') announced today that they will construct the largest mega solar facility (large-scale solar power station) in Saga and conduct the power generation business in the prefecture through an operating company that will be established jointly by the two companies.

The operating company today concluded a financing agreement pertaining to the project with the Bank of Fukuoka.

The power expected to be generated per year amounts to 23,863,147 kilowatts per hour, equivalent to the amount of electricity consumed by 4,223 ordinary households annually. As a result, carbon dioxide will be reduced by as much as approximately 14,500 tons every year.

ITOCHUU and Kyudenko will promote the power generation business through the operation, utilizing renewable energy in both Japan and abroad. By doing so, the two companies will contribute to the creation of a recycling-oriented society while giving consideration to environmental conservation such as the prevention of global warming.
