ISS is delighted with the extent that our staff embraced Learning and Development opportunities in 2016. We had a record year, with hundreds of graduates in our customer service and leadership programs, as well as thousands of e-learning modules completed.

Over the past couple of years, ISS has driven a broad-spectrum of Leadership courses, aimed at coaching and developing our supervisors and managers at all levels of the business. In 2016, we had 130 people graduate from the Pacific Supervisory Mastery (PSM) Program, 16 people completed the Key Account Manager Development Program and 15 senior managers completed the Pacific Leadership Mastery (PLM) Course. These Leadership courses have resulted in many promotions throughout the business, as well as improved service to our clients with managers reporting greater confidence and capability as well as better commercial knowledge.

Last year our front-line staff were also exposed to more L&D opportunities than ever before. Since its inception in 2014, 3,408 staff have completed our bespoke 'Living Service with a Human Touch' customer service program - which empowers team members to understand their client and deliver great service outcomes. The program has also produced 71 certified trainers, 130 Leading SWAHT graduates and is gaining more and more momentum each year.

In 2016, we also saw our Learning Management System (LMS) rolled-out to the entire Australian business (and most of NZ). The LMS allows employees to work through a growing e-learning curriculum, specifically tailored to them. It also allows managers to automatically create electronic training plans for their staff, then track attendance and report on training. In 2016, we had a record year for e-learning, with over 80,000 modules completed across the Australian workforce!

ISS has a comprehensive guidebook to Learning & Development, which outlines all the course options available to staff. We have a holistic approach to training, and these company-run programs are supported by comprehensive on-the-job training, and complimented by formal traineeship opportunities.

ISS employees now have excellent opportunities to learn and develop, with exposure to so many training options, delivered in a very planned and managed way. We look forward to 2017 bringing even more momentum to the L&D space and enriching the working lives of our employees.
