New Inmarsat non-executive director is announced

07 January 2015: Inmarsat has appointed Robert Ruijter as an additional non-executive director.

Rob, who will join the Board on 1 February 2015 as a member of the audit committee, was the Chief Financial Officer of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines from 2001 until its merger with Air France in 2004, and the Chief Financial Officer of VNU N.V. - a publicly-listed marketing and publishing company, now Nielsen - between 2004 and 2007.

In 2009 and 2010 he served as the CFO of electronic components manufacturer ASM International and in 2013 he was interim CEO of Vion Food Group.

Financial input

Rob currently serves on the supervisory boards of piping manufacturer Wavin and Ziggo, and is also on the board of Interxion; for these companies he chairs the audit committee. He is also on the supervisory board of Delta Lloyd and is a member of the audit and risk committees. Rob is a certified public accountant in the United States and The Netherlands and a member of ACT in the UK.
